Go Back

background

Picture Perfect I: The Negatives is the debut project by The Gambit Family. Originally planned to be a commercial release they were unable to solidify exclusive rights to the production in time. It was decided the project be released as a promo mixtape. It remains Gambit Family’s most popular project to date receiving over 25,000 Listens and 1500 downloads during it’s tenure on ThatCrack.com; However due to the use of industry instrumentals it was removed. The success of the release motivated the members to continue the Gambit Family name and a trilogy was put into the works. The album wasn’t without its problems…. The group members changed consistently due to personal conflicts members were dropped and added. The final official Gambit Family roster at the time of the project was: Willie Spade, Mick Swagga, and PrinZe. Although Uni-Ali makes appearances on the album, he was still associated with Rivah $ity Rydaz. The computer holding all the original sessions crashed and due to clever mixing the album was able to be salvage it took 6 months after all the conflicts and technical problems were resolved.
